Show REPORT 0)' AGENT IN UTAH. . No school or mission hraa been in opelation during tlie laat year. During my visit to Washington this spring I urged upon the department the necessity and imporranee of establishiug an industrial boardingschool and mission. I also suggested the pro-pTiety of visiting New York for the purpose of urging the Presbyterian Board of Mi%- sxons to oo-operate with the depertmunt, and my views were heartily srnd oordially xeapooded to bv the dep%rtment and the Bos;nd of Missions, and the msnlt is that a contract has bien entered into betrreen the department nod the board for the oom-menoement of a, indnatrirsl boarding-school and mission, and I have been directed to preparc suitable building8 for the ptirpose. We are now thus engaged and hope to be reedy by the 1st of November to iuaogurate our school sud mission, from which I anticipate the best resr\l'la to the oKildreu and by a arilex influence to t.he i~dn~latlas o,, many of ahom are desirous of havcng their children instructed. There is a manifest growing disposition to &opt the man-ners and practices of white men. Their disposition to adapt citizenat dress is only limited by their ability to procure it, as is the desire for houses and useful furniture. Their inclination to have their children clothed and taneht, their seekinx and fre-quently following the advice of the agent and others i< tLe management of their affairs, all show growth in this direotiou.
