Show Copy Port Du Ohesne, Utah, May 24, 1889. To the Asst. Adjutant General, Department of the Platte. Sir:- I have the honor to report, in compliance with your endorsement dated Hay 10, 1889, relative to Sioux Indians, that in August last 90 Sioixx and 10 squaws arrived at the Uintah Agency. They had no pass from their Agent nor did they show any authority for leaving their Agency. They were allowed to remain on the reservation for a few days, when they were sent away by the Agent with orders to return to their reservation. Tho;y took with them 100 horses given them by the Utes. The Agent gave them a paper showing that they had honestly come in possession of the horses. Since that time no Sioux Indians have been on the Uintah or Uncom-pahgre Reservations, nor have any been heard of in this vicinity. Ve ?-y re sp e c tf ul ly, Your obedient servant, Sgd: Adna R.
