Sir: I am in receipt of a letter from O.K. Vandever, Esq.,Indian Agent at the Navajo Agency,dated November 22,transmitting a copy of one from you of November 15t1889tadvising him that your Indians feared trouble with the whites would be caused by Navajo Indians reported to be on the Ute reservation,and requesting him to keep his Indians on their own reservation,and a copy of his reply of the 22nd ultimo,informing you that he had sent his police after the offenders,with instructions to compel their return to their reservation,and that they (the police) had returned with the information that they had accomplished their mission; and in which he requests that if you find any of his Indians within limits of your Agency,you will arrest them - notifying him thereof - and that he would go after them &c. Agent Vandever asks that you be advised to comply witji his request. |
