Sir: I return herewith the letter of Agent Stollsteimer of the Southern Ute Agency, Colorado, concerning"the desire of the Southern Ute Indians to remove to Utah, also the letter of Senator Bowon of Colorado,relating to the same subject,which accompanied your letter of 15th inst. In accordance with your recommendation and for the reasons stated by you,authority is hereby granted for the Agent of the Southern Ute Agency, Colorado,to visit this City accompanied by an Interpreter and two representative Indians from the Southern Ute reservation,!or consultation, upon the question of the removal of those Indians; provided there are funds applicable to the payment of the actual and necessary expenses that may be incurred in the trip to this City,while here,and returning to the Agency, the payment of such expenses being hereby authorized.
