Lly dear Mr, Commissioner- I am enclosing herewith a statement made l^ y the Indians of this Agency, setting forth their desire to have a delegation of their number, with the superintendent, visit Washington, for the purpose of conferring with the Hon* Commissioner, and other officials, relative to matters of interest to them as a tribe and as individual members thereof. It will be recalled that last year, such a delegation went to Washington, but they wore all members of Buckskin Charley's band, and while at Washington members of the Severo or Capota band made a request to join the delegation, feeling that they should be represented. Their request was denied. There is a feeling among all of the Indians of this agency that another delegation of the Severo band should be authorised to make the trip, and it will be noticed that Buckskin Charley was '; he first to r; i? n the enclosed petition. |
