S i r : Shere is enclosed herewith a letter from Mr. Herbert Redhsaw, Parmer in charge of the Aneth District of this' reservation, with reference to a visit he has made, to some Indians off the reservation, which visit was nade with ' Superintendent MciCean, of the Consolidated Ute Indian Agency.- I had a conversation with Mr. McLean before he made this trip and advised him that farmer Redshav/ could go withhim and locate the Ute Indians- belonging to " the Ute Mountain Reservation, as Mr. Redshaw was familiar'*, vith their location and personally familiar with the so- called*'. renegade Utes, that is,- those who feve refused to go onto the Ute Mountain Reservation.%,- Shese Indians are the ones kr. ov. n - as the PoIe, Posy and Slim Jim group.
