Through the association of the children and the parents with the Ute Mountain School and its employees, more improvement and more rapid advancement can be made with this band of Indians* I would recommend that, for tho presont at least, the plan now in operation be continued and the construction and maintenance of a* day school at Allen Canyon be delayed until some future time. It may prove that the present plan us found to be satisfactory and more beneficial and that the construction of this day school would not be advisable. Very respectfully, &• E.
