How did the Paiute people go about trying to protect themselves against witchcraft? Is it all right to tell that? AD: ( Ute.) SE: ( Ute.) AD: They didn't think that they could ever run away from witchcraft cause they, you know, if you spit on the ground, they can get that and witch craft would get them from there, then they'd still die, or from their hair. They see a little hair and they get that and they would witchcraft by the hair. Then they'd still die. They couldn't get away from it. GT: So they couldn't get away from it?
