Edifying narratives from the Qurʼān and the Ḥadīth. Colophon: "tamma al-kitāb bi-ʻawn al-Malik al-Wahhāb ... wa-wāfaqa al-farāgh min kitābatihi yawm al-jumʻah al-mubārakah tāsiʻ wa-ʻashrīn fī shahr Dī al-Qaʻdah al-Ḥarām ʻām 1105 ..." Description of original: Clear Naskhi with rubrications; double border in red throughout; preserved in a (later) cloth binding fith flap; block detached, and largely disbound. The last folio contains a note on the death of Sultan Muṣṭafá during the month of Ramaḍān 1187, and the accession of Sultan ʻAbd al-Majīd; the date of the arrival of the news in Cairo is given as the 9th of Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1187, more than two months later. |
