Show Norwich was not . a large town, and because Norfolk County is so level, one is aware of the broad expanse of sky-as at sea. The town had a few pubs or saloons, a dance hall, and two or three hotels where we could stay. The people were very friendly and treated us good. It was here I spent Christmas 1942. Pictures taken while on leave Lon Lt. Robert Blaine Plano, Texas Pilot-"Devil's Playmate" ' I had only one leave that ·was long enough for a trip to London. We traveled on °the train for about two hundred miles. We spent three days and two nights there, and it was most interesting. In the daytime we would visit places of historical interest such as: Westminister Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Pickadilly Square, and many others. However, due to the many German air raids a lot of the city was in rubble. At night, we visited the many night spots. All in all we had a good time. I would like to return some day, see how the country has been restored, and visit a few other countries on the Continent. Above-Standing in front of Westminister Abbey Lt. Lawrence Roetto Lt. Leo O.
