Show Maturation 2.0: Menopause Group Education space Alyssa Moxley, BSN, RN; Katie Ward, DNP, WHNP-BC; Lisa Taylor-Swanson, PhD, MAcOM, LAc Key Take Away Group education empowers and educates individuals in the menopause transition, so they may better understand their own physiology as well as access appropriate, evidence-based care when indicated. Background Results • Up to 80% of women experience at least one vasomotor symptom of menopause for an average of 7.4 years. • Group education has been found in multiple studies to improve knowledge, symptoms, and attitudes toward menopause. • Knowledge about menopause improved as demonstrated by increased mean quiz scores. • Symptom scores decreased 8 weeks following intervention, though this did not reach statistical significance (p-value=0.914). • Attitude measures improved somewhat for select survey questions. • Satisfaction: Participants rated Maturation 2.0 very highly. On a scale of 4 to 20, Mean Acceptability of Intervention Measure (AIM) score was 18.
