"While understanding the simplistic focus that this endeavor seeks, Utah just cannot be summed up in just a couple of colors. The richness of both its community and landscape needs to be visible. This is why these designs that I am submitting break the threshold a tad with four colors. I chose the four colors to represent the following: green-for the great Oquirrh, Wasatch, and Uintah mountains and the many other Utah ranges and peaks, white-best snow on Earth - enough said there, reddish tan -Utah desserts and sand, blue-Great Salt Lake, Fish Lake, plus the many other Utah lakes and reservoirs. The white background shape nods to the honeycomb of the bee hive and the simple reddish-tan image leaves the beholder to ponder bee hives and Utah's desert formations and arches (one in particular). Again, with this design, I chose for the simple element to be centered as it is the center of our state's core."
