DSpace was developed by MIT and Hewlett Packard -Intended to serve as the framework for diverse institutional repositories and is used by numerous universities, research centers and museums around the world -DSpace is suited to any digital format (data sets, images, audio files, documents etc.) -As of February 15, 2008, DSpace housed 2.3 million documents for 307 individual collections in 51 countries. -Initial documents used to populate the repository include geologic summaries, drilling reports, maps, technical papers, production statistics, economic analyses, patents, symposia presentations, federal statutes and federal agency analyses of unconventional resource development |
