Scans of letters exchanged from 1964 to 1977 between Marriner S. Eccles and economics professor Lauchlin B. Currie, a former colleague at the Federal Reserve. Includes a review of Currie's book, Accelerating Development: the necessity and the means (1966), printed in the Economic Journal, issue of Dec. 1967; and a 48-page typescript of a "working paper" by Currie entitled "Growth and wellbeing," based on two lectures sponsored by Simon Fraser University in 1971; a reprinted version of a speech by Currie from the American Economic Review, issue of May 1972; and a 16-page transcript of a paper entitled "Urban Policy in the Context of Development," delivered at the Fifth Pacific Regional Science Conference in Vancouver, B.C., August 16, 1977. |
