This Update summarizes an analysis of 2001 Utah Health Status Survey (HSS) data pertaining to the Medical Outcomes Study SF-12 (SF-12). The SF-12 consists of 12 questions that provide a picture of Utahns' perceived general physical and mental health. The SF-12 questions were administered to all 7,520 randomly-selected adult survey respondents. The questions were combined, scored, and weighted to create two scales that provide glimpses into mental and physical functioning and overall health-related-quality of life. |
