Title Normal and Abnormal Eye Movements and Aging
Creator Johnston, Janine L
Subject Aging; Eye Movements; Smooth Eye Movements; Senescence Ocular Motor Function; Alzheimer's Disease; Basal Ganglia; Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
Description Most studies which have examined normal aspects of human ocular motor control have used adults between the ages of 20 and about 50 years, presuming that no significant changes occur over these years. While this may be so, there are definite variations in "normal" ocular motility at the extremes of age, initially in the development of eye movements and ultimately in their decline.
