Description |
Presenting Symptom: Hemorrhagic optic neuropathy. Pathology: Metastatic choroid. Clinical: Tumors metastasize most commonly to the choroid and present the fundus picture of an ill-defined, yellowish elevation of the retina obscuring the choroidal landmarks. In the present case, there is also a hemorrhagic optic neuropathy suggesting an associated metastasis to the nerve. The patient was a 52-year old male with generalized adenocarcinomatosis (positive biopsy from mandibular region) but the primary source was never ascertained. Disease/ Diagnosis: Metastatic adenocarcinoma |
