Description |
Presenting Symptom: Optic nerve drusen. Pathology: Hyaline bodies of the nerve head. Clinical: Swelling of the disc attributable to causes other than edema is called pseudopapilledema. One of the discrete types of pseudopapilledema is the occurrence of hyaline bodies of the nerve head (not to be confused with drusen of the rest of the fundus). These are frequently familial and usually benign. This patient was a 24-year old female with a 9-year history of massive drusen of both nerve heads. Disease/ Diagnosis: Pseudopapilledema |
