Description |
Presenting Symptom: Poor visual acuity OS; Retinal hemorrhage. Pathology: Vitreous veils. Clinical: The patient was a 65-year old black female with a several history of poor vision in the left eye. Hemoglobin studies revealed the sickle cell trait. Ophthalmoscopic examination of the left eye disclosed vitreous veils such as seen with recurrent hemorrhages and occlusion of the inferior retinal arteries. The blurred outline of the disc and of these arteries is just visible through the veil along with a pulling forward of the inferior retinal veins.
