Alternative Title Panorama of sketches from near old Fort Valdez, August 20th
Description Panoramic assemblage of ten sketches of the San Luis Valley and nearby mountains, from near Ute Creek south of Fort Massachusetts, drawn by Richard H. Kern during the Gunnison expedition on 20 August 1853. Shlaer notes that he could find no information about a "Fort Valdez" in the vicinity, but the location is along Ute Creek, west of Fort Massachusetts.
