Title Plate 153
Alternative Title Lithograph based on the sketch of Cochetopa Pass up East Pass Creek
Description Lithograph by John Mix Stanley based on the sketch of the approach to Cochetopa Pass up East Pass Creek, drawn by Richard H. Kern during the Gunnison expedition on 1 September 1853. Shlaer explains how the sketch was labeled "Coo-che-to-pa Pass, leaving Sah-watch Creek," but the lithograph was mistitled to suggest it portrayed the Gunnison River below its confluence with today's Tomichi Creek .
