| Description | On September 20, 2017 Hurricane Maria struck the island of Puerto Rico. The effects of the hurricane halted production at Baxter Medical's three plants located on the island. This document takes a look at how Intermountain Healthcare, headquartered in Salt Lake City, dealt with the effects of the hurricane within the supply chain. Baxter Medical was their sole supplier for a key piece of hospital operations: IV solutions. Supply chain risk management in a business setting is also discussed by exploring risk assessment, risk monitoring, and risk response. |
