Show In the afternoon, Steve Bortz, Scientific Manager of the IFRF station reviewed its scientific activities. The next day members toured the Bethlehem Steel Company's Burns Harbor Plants 80" Hot Strip Mill with its State of the Art Computer Control Reheat Furnaces to witness first hand the furnace in operation. The Spring meetings are informal and allows for a wide range of discussion in the application of Applied Research Technology to actual full scale unit with its attending constraints not met in a research facility. Bradford Pease and his associates are congratulated on an excellent and informative meeting. The 1985 AFRC Spring Meeting will be chaired by Adel F. Sarofim, MIT, Cambridge, Mass. on April 15 and 16th. Professor Sarofim was the recipient of the Egerton Medal at the Twentieth Symposium (International) on Combustion of the Combustion Institute at the University of Michigan in August 1984. The International Flame Research Foundation will hold its executive meetings on April 17 and 18th and a number of members from other National Committees are expected to attend the American Flame Research Committee meeting.
