Abstract ClearSign's Electrodynamic Combustion Control™ (ECC™) technology uses a computer-controlled high-voltage electric fields to manipulate the movement of electrically charged molecules (ions) that are a natural product of combustion processes. The pulsed field creates very powerful electrostatic forces (Coulombic body forces) that may be used to create a number of beneficial effects, among them - increased fuel-°©‐air mixing with attendant reduction of excess air, CO, soot, and PM - increased stability, flame speed, attachment, and turndown - reduced emissions of NOx - enhanced heat transfer to a surface or rejection therefrom - flame shaping, and - enhanced flame luminosity.
