Description Patients accepted for psychiatric hospitalization to the UUMC Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (5-West) face unnecessarily long waiting times in the UMMC Emergency Department before admission. This delays the onset of consistent care for our patients, reduces revenue, and increases cost. It also reduces the efficient flow of non-psychiatric ED patients.
