Description | A correlational study examined the relationship between the perception of job stress, recent life events, and their relation to physical and psychological distress. The moderating effects of personality and role orientation on the stress-illness relationship were also discussed. A sample of 189 women attorneys and accountants completed a series of questionnaires that assessed role orientation, hardiness, self-esteem, perceived job stress, recent life experiences, social supoort, physical health and psychological well-being. |
