Show "Well, right now I don't care if you are the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, or the Tooth Fairy. I need help, and I will do whatever you ask. Get over here and help me pull out this cactus! After that I will help you deliver Christmas presents, hide Easter eggs or collect teeth from under pillows. Anything you want, just help me NOW!" Pedro hopped over and used his strong front teeth to pull out the deep, stinging cactus spines. After many hours, with much yelping and howling, the painful job was done. Coyote was red and sore but greatly relieved. "I am deeply indebted to you Bunny," Coyote said as he extended his paw. They shook paws and Coyote tried to turn to leave. Pedro held on to his paw and reminded him, "Coyote, I am grateful you have decided not to rum me into a bunny taco, but there is still a big job left for us to do." Coyote pulled his paw away and picked his teeth with a cactus spine. "Certainly you're not talking about all that Easter egg nonsense?" "Si senor, I am," Pedro said. "I need help. By my age, my father had many offspring to help. I have not been so lucky with the sehoritas and so I am old and on my own. Without your help, ninosy ninas of the Southwest will have no Easter eggs this year." "Wow, I thought you had been sitting in the hot sun too long when you told me all that stuff about the Easter eggs," Coyote replied. He stood in one spot for a long, thoughtful moment. A sparkle came into his eye. Coyote had an idea. "A deal is a deal. My name is Carlos Miguel Gonzales Lujan the 1st," Coyote said reaching out his paw once again. "Muchogusto" |
