Description Dr James A. McCloskey, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, College of Pharmacy with his mass spectrometry equipment. Dr McCloskey earned his in B.S. in Chemistry from Trinity University in 1957. Dr McCloskey received his Ph.D. From MIT in 1963 and completed an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Center for Scientific Research in Gif-sur-Yvette, France in 1963-1964. Dr McCloskey served as President of the American society for Mass Spectrometry from 1978-1980. Dr McCloskey was Director of the University of Utah Mass Spectrometry Facility from 1975-2003 and the Director of the Interdepartmental Biological Chemistry Program from 1993-1995. Dr McCloskey retired in 2003 as Emeritus Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Biochemistry. Dr McCloskey died in 2017.
