Founded in 1969, it represents over 400 members nationwide. The purpose of NMUJS is the elevation of the stature of watercolor and the education of the public in the significance of watercolor as an important, creative, permanent painting medium. NMUJS is dedicated to the highest aesthetic standards and furthers the interests and development of watercolorists. Toward the promotion of watercolor painting, NMUJS sponsors informative and educational meetings, monthlu group paint-outs on location, workshops bu nationallu recognized artists, and juried shows to encourage a continued striving for excellence.
