Show LAND REQUIREMENTS AND RESOURCES Assuming continued application of the multiple-use principle, the land resource base of the Region appears to be sufficient in variety and amount to satisfy the projected land-use requirements through the year 2020. The many changes in land use necessary to satisfy projected land requirements must be planned to minimize conflicts among uses and to reduce cost. The following tabulation shows present and projected major land-use requirements for the period of study and acreage suitable and available for various uses in 1965.
