Hannah Claire Haines

The pose focuses on Hannah's face and her right shoulder, which includes a part of her necklace and sweater, while the rest of the image is out of focus. <br><br> Hannah Claire Haines spent four years as a nurse before deciding to become an accountant, which at the time was something unheard of for a woman. She took courses at the University of Utah and the Walton School of Commerce in Chicago, and was the only woman of her class to pass the CPA exam in 1932. Later she was known as the first woman CPA in Utah, and would continue flourishing in the field well into the 1960s. She was a prominent member of the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Bank Auditors and Controllers, and the Business and Professional Women's Club. She contributed to Westminster College's Malouf building for its nursing program and supported many students with scholarships. <br><br>
