The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies is a collective partnership amongst several Watercolor Societies in the Western United States. Every year this federation sponsors an annual juried exhibition of collage and water-based media. The ninth annual exhibition was hosted by San Antonio Watercolor Group at the Albuquerque Museum. Millard Sheets and Charles Reid juried the show and selected 103 paintings out of 730 entries. The Best of the Show award winner was New Beginnings by Jinni Thomas, a member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society. The David Gale Memorial winner was Canta by Lita Chavez, a member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society. The president of the New Mexico Watercolor Society was Terry Schueler, 1983-1984. |
