Show MURRAY STATE COLLEGE MURRAY. KENTUCKY The Director, Utah Humanities Foundation Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Sirs November 17, 1949 May I call on your assistance for several different items? First , a.s you know, the Journal 2!. .American Folklore annually publishes a report on "Work in Progress" in the January issue o-f the Journal . Usually we have had several interesting r eports on folklore work being carried out under the sponsorship of the Utah RUII18lli ties Foundation. This year we have no report from any Utah collectors working with the Foundation. Since the last copy for thi s article must be in before the and of this month , I would appreciate getting a report on individual folklore activity that was in progress this year , at your earliest convenience. The second item on which I ask your assistance is a personal request. In some journal within the past year or so, there was a notice ~~ or r eview of some publication listing the contents of the Folklore Archive../ I'J'!t/¢f/ of the utah Humanities Foundation. Since I am in charge of our local re- /\, gional archive, I should be very much interested in securing a copy of this report . ,a-.-.r. -.. .~; ;(( ¢& My third request is for a reprint or copy of the issue of the Utah Humanities Review containing A. H. Gayton's article on folklore and ~ I ;;/JJ(I9 ant'hropology. Again I am unable to furnish exac-t details. Naturally, for the last two items I should be glad to pay the cost of the publications. I would appreciate your attention to all three ot these requests . Very truly yours, Her bert Hal pert 11 ad Dept. of Languages and Literature HB/nl |
