Show . • 1 ear. n -·---<---'--------- -Utah ~Pioneer f 'Dies at 92 Tribun·~ Leased Wrre MENDON, Cache County-Robert Forster, 92, Mendon pioneer and former mayor, died Saturday at his home of infirmities incident to age. Mr. Forster had lived here since 1859. He was born in England March 30, 1853, a son of Ralph and Margaret McCullough Forster. He came to this country when 11 months old and the family first settled at Big Cottonwood, Salt Lake county, and then moved to . Mendon in 1859. Mr. Forster served as mayor for two terms and then was councilman for 20 years, being active in getting the water and light systems in the community. In the early days he worked on the railroad laying track from Mendon to Logan, and then for Union 'Pacific at Butte, Mont. He operated a hotel in Mendon many years. He is survived by two sisters, Idabella and Jemima Forster, Mendon; alsQ Ql~e Taylor· and family, Mendon, with w om e 1 lived. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p. l;Yl. in' the Mendon L D S ward chapel by Edgar Hancock, bishop. Friends may call at the ·family home Monday ·evening and Tuesday until time for services. Burial will be in Mendon cemetery unde'r the direction of yv. Loyal Hall mortuary, Logari. |
