Show GEORGE KONDO #1 ST: Were there many others that left as early as you did? GK: They might have been somE!. I know of two persons that left with us, but prior to that I don't know. I know that some of them had so-called leaves where they could go into sugar beets and turkey farms, you know, I feather the turkeys and things like that 1 but they weren't actually released from the camp. ST: No, I'm really surprised at your story because I was under the impression that only seasonal workers were allowed out that early. GK: Yeah. Well, maybe because of the fact that we were cleared, you know, and the position was advertised. "t Now, ---?--- anybody else they wouldn't have done that ---?--- so when we heard about it we just jumped at it. ST: Oh, boy. GK: Just to get out, you know. ST: Oh, sure. GK: Domestic.
