Description On the morning of July 10, 1965, ninety-three patients were transferred to the new University of Utah Medical Center with well-rehearsed, military precision. Commenting on the move, Hospital Administrator Vernon L. Harris noted: "Everything moved as smoothly as though the place had been in operation for years." In all, seventy members from the Utah National Guard 144th Evacuation Hospital Unit and 151st Wing of the Utah Air National Guard provided the manpower for the move.
