Abstract Azukas (b. 1915) was raised in a Catholic orphanage in Kingston, Pennsylvania, after his parents died. He was drafted into the army and served from 1943 to 1945. After his basic training at Camp Croft, South Carolina, he was assigned to the 91st Infantry Division and saw his first combat on 4 July 1944 in North Africa. Mr. Azukas provides several candid stories of his experiences from North Africa, Italy, and Yugoslavia. Interviewed by Becky Lloyd. 46 pages.
