Show · . 88/12,9119,94/6, and 97/3 volume percent) is shown in Figure 7. As seen, maximum radiation efficiency for any given mixture was obtained close to equivalence ratio one. Figure 7 suggests that the radiant efficiency of the burner for the mixtures tested varied only slightly and remained within a narrow band of 0.65 to 0.72. Figure 8 shows results for CO2 emissions for the same methane/propane mixtures. As seen, CO2 emission increased with the increase of the percentage of propane in the mixture which is as expected based on the stoichiometry. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS A unique porous radiant burner testing facility was built, consisting of spectral radiance as well as flue gas composition measurements. The measurement capabilities were tested using methane and the test results were found to be consistent with the literature. Various fuel mixtures were tested to determine the performance of the burner to the change in fuel compositions. Results indicated that the emissions increased for higher hydrocarbon fuels . Maximum radiant efficiency of the burner was obtained close to equivalence ratio one.
