Abstract Mr. Cox (b. 1922) recounts his early life of ranching and farming in Duchesne County, Utah. He enlisted in the Marines in the autumn of 1942. He recalls his boot camp experience and subsequent training before his transfer to Guadalcanal where he was assigned to the SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber. He completed 62 missions before being transferred stateside in September 1944. Cox describes occupation duty in Nagasaki, Japan before he was discharged in 1946.23 pages.
