The Evangelistic work for women has been carried on by a small group-o, of Christian women, working in the villages, visiting homes ,talking to those' who seem interested and teaching any \7no will try to read the words of simple tracts.iften they are called on to take down a paper god and burn it,for the woman whomhas decided that she will not worship it" may yet be afraid to tear it down. More visits from the Bible woman help'to strengthen her faith, more things learned by attending Sunday School and Church,The next step is often that of reading for half a month In a woman's class (called here a Station Class)The Hymns and Christian truths taught are often most eagerly read ,After such a time of study and association with those who are Christians many a woman has gone home to witness for ChrisWwith a firm conviction that she has found the true lay €0:0 which her heart has been hungry, There f$f£ is a small fee charged for entering a Station Class but the church pays more than half the expense.^/ ji^ jL%fafi£n.e women eat and live together, and are free from the home duties for a few daysand have long hours for study. One woman said,"Since my little girl began to read in the school we have had no paper gods on our walls, for she came home and told us that at school they had none of those and that they were not able to help people," The autumn class was a record class enrolling over 100. The hope of getting work and food, the stress of the famine conditions may have brought some, but nevertheless they had their chance to learn of God and His love,One group of little children made a tiny school by itself and sang joyfully the hymns they were taught,A group of dear old ladies was excused from the &&%& regular reading and given morning talks on simple Christian truths but even they repeated proudly the prayer and hymn they had read. The younger women and the very young brides kept their books beside them and seemed never to h have too much. The time is all too short and the trained helpers all too few out for all that can be done we give God thanks, Y^ y ."•• CA.'1/..V E# 'wfr$< J*^^sW£Cl Worker women has been a•••papt-a#-o«iSihreyk for several years.
