Show > Work of The W..B.M.I. aV'Lintsing,Shantung , China 1920 The statistics say that 136 children have been under school instruction, and over 100 women in the short study 'classes for church membership,But the committee who p aned little rememberances for the Christmas season felt that such statistics go only a little way in reflecting the numbers of these sharing in the church life. Their lists went almost to 10000 a thousand, including^two groups of destitute children being cared for over t the famine year and two other groups of children in out-station ehapels. Needless to say, the gifts were not much-but a post-card,prp%HYfp a Bible-picture, a safety pin,a pencil, some beads or a too, look festive when a red star is pasted on the newspaper wraping. And there were little girls to § rejoice in the pretty paper dolls and the other little dolls, just as t hosew who sent them had hoped. These Christmas lists stand for much. In the Girls Boarding School fif over forty have been Enrolled each term. They are busy happy girls and work hard and play hard. The young teachers, who themselves hope to study more another year have an earnest spirit. It was very hard in the spring to part with MissLong and see her start on her furlough. She is mentionedalmost daii It was hard not to have her^ here rto share in the joy of settling in the LONG&HOPED&FOR and VERY LOVELY NEW SCHOOL BUILDING. |
