Show (Dnv College is our (Eastle Oh, come, my jolly classmates, let us raise our voice in song. And sing the praise of old 1. C. in accents loud and strong. Let us start a lively chorus, that will reach the world around, Till every hill and valley shall have heard the joyful sound; Till from every town and hamlet in our glorious "Hawkeye State" We can hear her praises ringing, till they reach the "Golden Gate"; Till they spread along the seashore, and the mountains echo back The glad refrain we're starting for the Scarlet and the Black. CHORUS.-Oh, our college is our castle, in its praise we'll never lack; We'll sing it long, in voices strong,-the Scarlet and the Black. In games we have a record that we long expect to keep, And when we tackle other teams, we put them straight to sleep, Then send them to their mammas to be fed on catnip tea. And fitted for some high school, for they cannot play L C. Do not think that we are boasting, or at all inclined to brag, But we don't believe in standing still, nor let our courage lag. We've got the best that's going, and we want the world to know That the only art we haven't learned is that of going slow. CHORUS. PAUL PECK, 'Q7. |
