Show ...& Closing WS&otb... In closing, what can we say to make real to you the great opportunity that lies before us ? First, we may ask: "What are we here for ?" Is it not to give these people a clearer conception of God-His relation to them and their relation to Him-to lead them to accept God as He is revealed in Jesus Christ ? How best accomplish this? How more nearly follow in Christ's footsteps? Can we do better than by developing the work of our Hospital? Three and a half millions of people, ignorant even of the elemental necessity of cleanliness. One resident physician. The nearest hospitals or doctors, forty-five miles distant on the North, eighty miles distant on the East and on the West, and over one hundred miles distant on the South. This Opportunity is Yours. The present staff are working to the limit of their strength, and the present plant is being used to its utmost capacity. New doors are continually opening, the limitation lies in our inability to enter. We speak of Opportunity rather than Need. In many places the need may be as great, but here we have the two in combination. Prejudice has been overcome, confidence has been gained, and the results already accomplished are bringing others who have heard what is possible. It is our inability to meet these new calls that presses upon us and has induced us to bring again to your notice this work so full of possibilities, an opportunity to be "Workers together with God." ^®(§^- Page tl&e nty-fi'b e |
