Description This paper is a companion to the animated short I made, called The Window. In this paper, I aim to comprehensively reflect upon the project itself, the inspirations and meaning behind it, as well as the process of making it. I will also explain how this project has worked as a form of art therapy and emotional expression for me, in terms of the process and design elements. The short follows a protagonist named Spark -- it is worth noting that this name does not appear in the short itself. Spark walks along a seemingly never-ending hallway lined with doors. Unbeknownst to Spark, he is being stalked by a monstrous Shadow With Many Eyes. Spark goes into one of the doors leading off the hallway, and finds a shining rock. When he picks it up, it falls to pieces in his hands and the Shadow attacks and swallows him. Lying on the ground, Spark is illuminated by a window opening up in the wall. The short ends with him lifting his head and looking at the light.
