Description |
Presenting Symptom: Retinal telangiectasis; Cotton wool spot. Pathology: Retinal ischemia with exudate. Clinical: The fundus of a 67-year old female showing retinal hypertensive and arteriosclerotic changes. The arteries are abnormally tortuous and above the disc are focally ensheathed. The inferior retinal vein is notched by the overlying artery. The exudate to the right and cotton wool spot to the left presumably result from the hypertension. The patient's blood pressure was 230/140. Disease/ Diagnosis: Hypertensive retinopathy |
