Description Presenting Symptom: Pink discoloration of retinal vessels. Pathology: Occluded retinal vein. Clinical: The patient was a 47-year old male who had no ocular or systemic symptoms but was noted to have a pink discoloration of his retinal vessels on a routine survey examination. Study of the blood fats then revealed a neutral fat level of 10,780 mg % and a cholesterol level of 1300 mg %. Disease/ Diagnosis: Lipemia retinalis associated with hyperlipidemia.
