From 2002-2004, 1,441 Utah children aged 0-19 died, or 57.7 deaths per 100,000 children. The majority (65.0%) were classified as natural deaths,1 just less than a third (31.5%) were the result of injuries, and for 3.5%, the cause of death was unknown. Figures presented come from a combination of the Utah Child Fatality Review (CRF) Committee and Utah Vital Statistics data. |
