Description |
The public health system aims to improve health by preventing the premature onset of disease and disability, improving access to needed health care, and promoting healthier, more productive lives. The Healthy People 2010 initiative of the U.S. Public Health Service (HP2010) identifies 467 priority objectives that represent the current view of the most signifi cant preventable threats to the nation's health, and provides specifi c goals to reduce those threats. Public health programs across the Utah Department of Health (UDOH) have identifi ed 105 priority objectives, most of which are routinely tracked and reported by the UDOH. This update reviews progress in meeting selected measures from among Utah's priority health objectives. |
