Kalevala. Karelian folklore has found its most; beautiful expression in the Finnish folk epic Kalevala,; which was compiled and published by Elias Lo nn.r o t in; its final form in 1849. Kalevala depicts the fights; between good and evil as symbolized by the struggle; between the hardworking and friendly of Kaleva and; the land of wocked sorcerers, Pohjola .... In; Karelia Lonnrot wrote them down and gave them the; title, Kalevala, or Ancient Karelian Runes from the; Past of the FinniSh Peoples.
