Typescript of a biography of Ann Morris Butler Rice originally compiled by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and copied by Don Orton on April 26, 1941, for the Federal Writers Project. Ann Morris, a native of Wales, was a Mormon convert there, and after her first husband (William Butler) died, she came to Utah in 1856, where she marrie Ira Rice. She lived at Providence, Cache County, and in various places in Washington County, before dying at Escalante in 1897 |
